TRANSFERRING TO
THE GROW SHELVES!
Step 1
Turn on your shelf lights. To do so, navigate to the Lights tab on your touchscreen and toggle On your top, middle, and bottom shelf lights. Turning on the lights will also activate the fans.
Step 2
Select 12 of the healthiest, strongest, fullest looking seedlings from each crop and using the nursery basin shelf attachment, place the seed pods in the spaces in your Farmshelf’s three shelves.
Remember to then toggle off your nursery and clean the nursery for your next grow cycle. For best cleaning practices, check out our Cleaning page.
STEP 3
Carefully remove the pH probe cap located on the probe in the water tank (found in the lower right door). See below image.
These sensors help to operate the automation of dosing nutrients to your plants. Often, the pH and EC (Electroconductivity) will fluctuate depending on the hardness of your water locally. You also want to be sure your tank if filled over 40% at all times. Not only for water circulation but to be sure your plants get the nutrients they need. You can expect to top off you tank once a week.
Step 4
The are two options for watering: water cart and municipal. Please follow whichever Step 4 is applicable to you.
Water Cart
Select Water Flow then from the the drop-down menu select Manual Fill, then Fill.
The top port is to drain and the bottom port is to be detached for FILL. See below image.
When instructed by the touchscreen, disconnect the tank hose from bottom port, and connect your cart's quick connect fill hose.
You should never leave your Farmshelf unattended while watering.
The touchscreen will indicate the tank is full. You can then disconnect your cart's fill hose, reconnect the tank hose, and securely close the water door.
Municipal
Select Water Flow then from the drop-down menu select Municipal Fill and Fill
Allow the water tank to fill.
You should never leave your Farmshelf unattended while watering.
Two ¾” NPT threaded fittings on rear of unit (one fill, one drain)
Water should be 20-26 °C (68-78 °F)
STEP 5
Farmshelf automatically adds nutrients and buffers to the water. All you have to do is add the fresh cartridges included in your subscription box.
Before inserting cartridges into Farmshelf, be sure to remove the protective cap from each cartridge.
Open the bottom right door (access panel) of your unit and insert cartridges in left to right order: Nutrient A, Nutrient B, Buffer Up, Buffer Down. See below image.
Step 6
Using the touchscreen toggle on Water Circulation and the Auto-doser.
Return to your Farmshelf once a week for regular maintenance such as watering and partial harvests.
Partial harvest instructions for your specific crop can be found on the Crop Guide.
You should not turn off any functions during the crop cycle. With the exception of the nursery when it’s not in use.
⚠️IMPORTANT⚠️
Farmshelf requires regular filling of the water tank. your water tank will need to be above 40% at all times in order to receive adequate nutrients and fresh water.
Pro Tips
Know your UNIT ID
Our support team can review your Farmshelf’s data. Email the first 3 characters of your UNIT ID located on the touch screen of the Farmshelf.
Understanding the timeline for your crop cycle is essential:
1. Nursery duration (14 days)
2. Partial Harvests (up to 3 per crop cycle)
3. Crop Cycle (8-10 weeks)
4. Next order (week 6 to receive week 7)
Watering regularly - Water level sensors live in the Farmshelf. Should a Farmshelf not have enough water…. your plants won’t receive nutrients, water and live in stagnant rather than circulating water.
